Sheldon Cottrell is a household name in this cricket obsessed now. While the pacer has not played too many international games and has also not played the IPL, he has a big fan following because of his exploits in this year’s World Cup. Sheldon Cottrell made the world notice him with his fine bowling in the tournament.
But more than his performance with the ball, it was his celebration after taking a wicket that made him a fan favourite. Sheldon Cottrell, who was in Jamaican Defence Force, celebrates his wickets by marching and saluting before opening his arms to the heavens. And it looks like Sheldon Cottrell’s fan-following is set to increase even more because of his tweet on Diwali.

On a day when the entire country is gearing up for the festival of lights, Sheldon Cottrell gave his Indian fans a pleasant surprise by tweeting in Hindi. It all started when an Indian fan asked the pacer whether he knows Hindi.

Hi bro
Do you know Hindi…..— Anubhav Harsh Sinha (@AnubhavHarshsi) October 25, 2019
In reply, the West Indies star said he only knows Namaste and a few swear words as he tweeted:
“Only Namaste and a few swear words. Learnt a few great ones from stump mic recently ???♂️”

A little bit later, another fan retweeted this tweet from Cottrell and said, “Your Namaste is enough for us!”. But Cottrell was not done yet as the left-arm pacer didn’t think it was enough and went ahead to leave a message on Diwali in Hindi.
“Suprabhaat … happy Diwali. I spent a great time in Trinidad with the Indian diaspora when I played for the Red Force and I loved that time – this is my message with help from friends: Aapko aur aapke parivaar waalo ko meri oor se Deepawali ki dher saari shubhkaamnaayein,” wrote Cottrell.
