India’s southpaw batsman Shikhar Dhawan has pledged to donate money for the families of martyred CRPF jawans. Dhawan has joined the likes of Virender Sehwag, who has decided to fund the education of the children of the martyred jawans. The left-handed batsman took to his Twitter account to make the announcement through a video.
Dhawan has also asked other people to contribute to the noble cause. The Delhi based player said in the video that he will pray so that martyred jawans rest in peace. Furthermore, Dhawan said that he would pray to God that he may provide strength to the families of the victims to come out strong from this phase.
Dhawan tries to make his contribution.
Dhawan said whatever we will do to help the families will be less as they have suffered a huge loss of life. Moreover, the Indian opener has asked everyone to chip in their contribution.
Meanwhile, on February 14th, 42 CRPF jawans were martyred on a highway when a jeep, carrying nearly 300 kgs of explosives, ran into an Army convoy. Subsequently, the whole nation has been in shock after the brutal attacks from the terrorists.
The whole cricket fraternity has paid their condolences to the families of the jawans. Furthermore, many former players, as well as the current ones, are doing their bit to help the families at this difficult time.
On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan was the Man of the series in the T20I series against Australia. The left-hander scored two fifties in the ODI series against New Zealand. Dhawan will now partake in the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Australia. The first ODI will take place at Vishkhapatnam on 24th February.
Shikhar Dhawan took to his Twitter account to vow the donation for the families of the martyred jawans. The post read as, “This is the least we can do. Jis se jitna ban pade utna zaroor karein. Jai Hind?”
