Now, that all the cricketing action in the world has been brought to an abrupt halt due to the Coronavirus, many players are posting updates on social media from their personal lives. Shreyas Iyer became the latest cricketer to give the fans a glimpse into his life as he shared an adorable video with his pet dog.
Many players of the Indian team are dog lovers and have a pet dog at their home. Staring with skipper Virat Kohli, former captain MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul to Umesh Yadav, all have furry friends within their residences. Iyer too has a cute dog named ‘Betty’ who actually start playing cricket.

Yes, Iyer’s pet dog is starting to take interest in the sport, as the middle-order batsman recently shared a video of ‘Betty’ trying to catch a ball. This comes after New Zealand skipper had earlier shared a video of his pet ‘Sandy’ grabbing hold of the ball.

Seems like Betty took inspiration from Sandy, as Iyer took to Twitter and shared a clip of his dog on Tuesday.
“Betty wanted to have a go too after watching Kane Williamson’s beautiful dog Sandy nail that catch. Took Betty a while but she’s got her first catch and immediately ran to celebrate,” wrote the 25-year-old Mumbai born player.

With the spread of the Coronavirus, all cricketing ties were abandoned and cricketers were advised to stay at home and practice social distancing. This, in turn, meant that various players such as Iyer, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, etc have all been interacting with their fans a lot more.
Just a couple of days ago, Iyer did a question/answer session with his fans, wherein the right-handed batsman revealed a lot of details about himself, including the role models who have inspired him and much more.
