Both, Rohit and Sachin struggled in the One-Day format during the initial phase of their career. However, both have changed their position to opening section, where they excelled and became world-class players for India.

However, the duo shares an interesting coincidence, as they both crossed 1000-run mark in their 19th Test inning. In addition to that, they both played their 19th Test innings after playing for three years from their debut match.

There is no denying the fact that Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar are the two big names behind the evolution of Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Meanwhile, they both share quite a few records, which were coincidental.

Firstly, Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar are the only Indians for Mumbai Indians to register centuries. The former got against Kolkata Knight Riders while the later got against Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

They also share the 500th and 1000th IPL run as well. Both got their milestones against KKR and Rajasthan Royals, respectively. In their first IPL duck, both got dismissed against KKR by edging it to the keeper. Surprisingly, both of their second duck also came against the similar franchise, RCB.

Not only in international cricket but also they both share a coincidence in IPL captaincy as well. Shaun Pollock, Harbhajan Singh and Sachin Tendulkar were the captains for Mumbai Indians. And then, Ricky Ponting took the mantle.

Sachin Tendulkar led the side for quite a few seasons before Ponting took over the charge. However, within less period, Rohit Sharma was asked to lead the team, and since then, they never looked back.

In another interesting story, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma knocked 111 runs for three times in their career. They both also share the score of 152, which has been scored by only them in the Indian cricket history.

Sachin scored all his 111-run knocks against South Africa while Rohit Sharma scored twice against the Windies and once against Pakistan. Coming to 152-run knock, Sachin scored against Namibia while Rohit knocked against the Windies.
