SK, the man who taught Ravichandran Ashwin the famous carrom ball has been finally found. The India off-spinner recently revealed how SK was so good with the carrom ball and taught him that delivery. Ravichandran Ashwin first caught everyone’s attention by bowling the carrom ball only and has used it on a consistent basis to bamboozle the opposition.

The carrom ball is bowled using the fingers where the bowler holds the ball between his thumb and the index fingers to generate an extra turn. It is a difficult delivery to bowl for the bowler as well as to read for the batsmen. Ravichandran Ashwin has mastered it and recently thanked SK for the same.

The India star revealed that SK bowled the carrom ball brilliantly and taught him the same while he was playing tennis ball cricket. Ashwin then stated that he has no idea about what SK was up to nowadays.

“The first time I went to play a tennis ball game, I was batting. There was this guy who was bowling with a proper action, getting beautiful drift and getting the ball to go nicely out and in. Till today I can’t find where the guy is but I haven’t seen a better bowler who can bowl both in and out than him in my life. His name is SK. He was the one from whom I learnt that ball,” Ashwin said on Cricbuzz’s Spicy Pitch.

“Basically he was the one who made me look like an absolute idiot on that particular day. I was a big thing around the tennis ball circuit as a batsman then, so I said I need to learn from this guy. So I used to go every morning, and he used to come and teach me for about 10-15 days,” he added.

Just few days after the revelation from Ravichandran Ashwin, SK has been found. Cricbuzz’s team did not waste much time in finding SK or Karthik Sekhar. On Friday, the news outlet posted a clip on Twitter where SK could be seen thanking Ashwin for his words.

“Hey Ashwin surprise, here is the SK you have been looking for. I am humbled by the praise you showered for me. This is one of the most pleasant surprises for us. We are so proud of you. From tennis ball cricket to making India proud, you have come a long way. I wonder if my carrom ball was that good, I should have taken it more seriously. Again thank you for everything and keep making us proud,” said SK.
