Sourav Ganguly, the outgoing Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, has reportedly being left disappointed and dejected after being let down by the other members of the board as on Tuesday, it was revealed that his tenure as the BCCI chief will come to an end.

Ganguly was the one to have lost a lot on the day, having been left in the cold by the BCCI members. Most members of the outgoing administration have found places in the new dispensation, barring of course, Ganguly besides Jayesh George, the joint secretary and sources say Ganguly did not try to hide his displeasure.

The former India captain was the last one to leave the BCCI office after the nomination process ended, swiftly getting into his car and rolling up the glasses of the window. He did not propose the name of Roger Binny, the incoming president, as is the normal practice.

As per reports from Cricbuzz, at the informal meeting before the nomination process, Ganguly was bluntly told by members of the BCCI that his performance did not live up to the expectations although the official reason is that there is no pattern of a president holding two full terms.

Ganguly was eager to continue as the BCCI President, but then how his endorsing brands that are rival to those who sponsor the board was brought up. Moreso, N Srinivasan, who is like a mentor to the current BCCI team, made a quick stop in Mumbai and it is said he was one of the vocal critics of Ganguly.

Sourav Ganguly, once considered one of the best candidates for the BCCI chief position, himself had gotten elected in 2019 at the eleventh hour ahead of Brijesh Patel, who was the favorite for the top position. He is not even in the picture to be nominated for the ICC chairman post as well.
