The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Sourav Ganguly set to look into the issue of Jasprit Bumrah. After National Cricket Academy refuse to conduct pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness test, the BCCI president set to speak with Rahul Dravid regarding the matter.
Jasprit Bumrah is currently recovering from a back injury that has kept him away from international cricket for quite some time. Bumrah last played for India in the West Indies Tests and has missed Test series and limited-overs assignments against South Africa and Bangladesh at home.
I will speak to Rahul Dravid – Sourav Ganguly
As per a report in Times of India, Dravid and the concerned team at the NCA “politely” told Bumrah that they will not conduct any fitness test. It is understood that NCA was “unconvinced” about doing the test as Bumrah chose not to consult the academy but his own set of specialists for his treatment and recovery. Bumrah had travelled to England for his treatment and was undergoing recovery under his own set of physios.
“I will find out what exactly is the reason. NCA has to be the first and final point of every international cricketer,” Ganguly said on the sidelines of My11Circle fantasy game event. “It’s just been a couple of months since I have taken over. I will speak to Rahul (Dravid). I met him a few times. We will understand the problem and solve it.
“From outside, and who has not seen this very closely, Bumrah has been injured for a while. I was not part of the system while he was sent. What happened? But if you ask me, NCA is a place for Indian cricketers. Everything has to go through the NCA so we will find out,” the former India captain added.

The pacer was recently spotted bowling at the Indian team’s nets in Visakhapatnam ahead of the second ODI between India and West Indies. The report added that Bumrah was at his usual best in the nets and looked much improved after undergoing recovery. He has not played for India since the team’s tour of West Indies, earlier this year.
