BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that there is no doubt that India is not performing well in overseas conditions and thus he will speak to captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri regarding the same. In 2020, India lost 0-2 To New Zealand in Test series with even Virat Kohli failing to perform to his calibre.

India is currently on top of the World Test Championship table and Kohli is the most successful captain in the longest format for the country. But despite that the setback against the Kiwis was a reality check for India, who previously clinched series’ against the West Indies and Bangladesh.

Ganguly said that rules are the same for every captain as even he was summoned for India’s poor performance. The former India captain said that he will have a word with Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli and work with them on how to help the team perform well in overseas conditions.

“You have to play well outside, they are not doing that. And there is no hiding. Even when I was captain, I said I will be only judged how good I am when we play away and it remains the same. We will have a word with Virat and Ravi and the boys and help them to play well away,” Ganguly told Sportskeeda in an interview.

India will next play an overseas tour Down Under. They had clinched a historic victory last time but with David Warner and Steve Smith back in the set up it will be a different challenge for the side.

The four-Test series will get underway from December 3, which will also seen a pink ball Test, with concluding match scheduled for January 2021.
