Andile Phehlukwayo, the all-rounder from South Africa, grabbed a stunner diving to his left to dismiss Mohammad Hafeez during the third ODI against Pakistan at Centurion.

Meanwhile, South Africa have struggled with their field in the ongoing series against Pakistan. After the horror second session of the second day in the final Test at the Wanderers earlier this month, where they dropped four catches in quick succession, the butter fingers returned. Up until the 40th over of Pakistan’s innings, who opted to bat first, South Africa had dropped three vital catches.

Meanwhile, it started with Andile Phehlukwayo, who allowed a mistimed pull from Babar Azam, on 11, burst through his hands. Babar ended with 69. And then, Tabraiz Shamsi dropped a regulation catch from Imam-ul-Haq, who was on 53, when he drove a Dale Steyn full toss straight to him at mid-off. Imam later reached his century.

And lastly, Hashim Amla dropped Mohammad Hafeez at ten at slip off the unlucky Steyn. Hafeez strode to 52 off just 45, but his knock was ended by a magnificent grab by Phehlukwayo, driving to his left. The incident took place during the 39th over when Hafeez misconnected a lofted shot over mid-on. Andile Phehlukayo dived to his left like a goal-keeper to pluck a stunner only to redeem his earlier drop.

Proteas takes a 2-1 lead

Meanwhile, sparkling 80 not out from Reeza Hendricks trumped Imam-ul-Haq’s fifth ODI hundred as South Africa triumphed over Pakistan by the DLS method. However, Sarfaraz Ahmed & Co did most of the things; however, South Africa turned things around superbly after the first rain break.

Trailing 2-1 in the five-match series, Pakistan will be desperate to bounce back and level the series after suffering a whitewash in the Tests.
