You might have seen the board dropping the players for their poor performance in the game of cricket. But, it is not the case with South Africa, as they have released Imran Tahir for performing exceptionally well in the series against Zimbabwe. Yes, you read it right, to give a fair chance for the other bowlers in the troop, Cricket South Africa asked Imran Tahir to stay away for the final two T20I games.

However, Imran Tahir has been exceptional right through Zimbabwe’s tour to South Africa 2018. The visitors failed to read Tahir’s spin bowling thus falling prey to him more often than not. He finished with ten wickets to take a man of the series in the ODIs and then took five wickets in the first T20I game.

Imran Tahir has been the wrecker-in-chief:

The Zimbabwe batsmen looked clueless against Tahir on the other day in the T20I series. They never looked settled in the crease and seemed like giving away their wicket on every ball that was delivered by Imran Tahir.

Cricket South Africa, however, in their witty tweet, quoted they will be releasing their leg-spinner, Tahir for the remaining two T20I games against Zimbabwe.

Further, they added saying the decision was taken to give a fair chance for all the bowlers. Meanwhile, they are yet to reveal the replacement.

”Imran Tahir has been released from the squad for the last two T20I’s to allow an opportunity to give all the bowlers a fair go in the series. We will miss these celebrations,” the Cricket South Africa’s tweet read.

Coming to the series, South Africa lead the three-match series by 1-0 after the win at Buffalo Park. The second T20I is scheduled to be played on October 12th at Senwes Park.
