The ongoing second Test has already reached a dramatic stage as the hosts have taken a lead of over 100 runs. More importantly, their star batsman AB De Villiers completed his 22nd Test century and broke the deadlock. This was also De Villiers first Test century in three years.

However, according to some reports the South African batsmen complained to the umpires about taping on Warner’s left hand. The Proteas believe that the strapping is assisting Warner tamper with the condition of the ball.

Interestingly, Warner accused AB de Villiers of the same offence in 2014 at the same venue and was also fined 15% of his match fee for the outburst.

Warner has been surrounded by controversy in the ongoing series and was fined 100 percent of his match fees and was handed three demerits points for his altercation with South African wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock.

Despite all these distractions, Warner has been Australia’s leading run scorer with 142 runs in three innings at an average of 47.33.

The second Test is finely poised at the moment as hosts South Africa took a 139 runs lead in the first innings as they were dismissed for 382.
