Of late, Sri Lanka is encountering all kind of setbacks. Be it in doping or ball-tampering, misconduct or disobeying the respective board, Sri Lanka is suffering pretty badly in every department. Unfortunately, the commas are being extended, as their players are repeating them time and time again.

The classy stroke-maker, Danushka Gunathilaka has been the latest addition to it. He has been slapped with six international matches ban by the respective board after the probe made on him.

Though he was out from the sexual harassment issue, Danushka Gunathilaka got suspended for two different rule breaches. In his six-match suspension, three matches are for breaching the player code of conduct.

The remaining three matches have been for breaching the player code of Contractual obligation. Gunathilka had already served one-year sentence earlier which now turned into the suspension for the classy cricketer.

”Three-match suspension has been given to him for violating the contract that he has entered to with SLC. And the remaining three-match suspensions were given to him for the one-year sentence which he was already serving since October 18, 2017, for breaching the ‘Player Contract’,” as was quoted by Cricbuzz.

Gunathilaka will also not receive the payment for his the second Test against South Africa. Due to the charges laid on him during the second Test, he will get excluded from the payment fixture.

As Gunathilka was served with the six-match ban, he would be back wearing his jersey after the conclusion of series against Proteas. South Africa are set to play five-match ODI series followed by a one-off T20I match.

Probably, if he ticks all the boxes, Gunathilka might be back to his place when England tours Sri Lanka later this year. Despite the rule breaks, Gunathilaka has always been the fruitful player for Islanders.
