Team India finished their tour in the Rainbow Nation with a 7 runs victory in the 3rd and the decisive T20I. Courtesy their victory, the Men in Blue continued their sensational record in the deciders of a 3 match T20I series. Here is a list of matches which India won in the decider of a 3 match T20II series.
India vs Sri Lanka 2015-16
In the first match of the series in Pune, Sri Lanka started off with a bang and sealed a famous victory. However, the Men in Blue bounced back strongly to win the 2nd match at Ranchi by 69 runs to level the series 1-1. In the series decider at Vishakapatnam, the Men in Blue won by 9 wickets. It was Ravichandran Ashwin’s sensational 4 wicket haul which helped the hosts bowl out Sri Lanka for a meager total of 82 runs in 18 overs.
ZIMBABWE v INDIA 2016
The Africa minnows stunned the Men in Blue in the opening clash of the 3 match clash. They lost by just 2 runs. However, India again bounced back strongly to win the 2nd encounter by 10 wickets. In the series decider, Team India narrowly managed to escape with a victory from the jaws of defeat. It was a spirited display by the African minnows.
INDIA v ENGLAND 2016-17
The Men in Blue again started off with a loss in the opening clash. They romped to a comfortable 7 wickets victory. However, India leveled the series with a sensational victory in the 2nd encounter. It was a splendid spell of 6/24 by Yuzvendra Chahal which helped India seal the decider in Bengaluru by 75 runs.
INDIA v NEW ZEALAND 2017-18
This time around the Men in Blue started off with a victory in the opening clash at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. However, the Kiwis bounced back strongly to level the series courtesy a 40 runs victory in the 2nd encounter in Rajkot. Due to inclement weather, the series decider in Trivandrum was reduced to an 8 overs affair. It was India who prevailed in a nail-biting thriller by just 6 runs.
INDIA v SOUTH AFRICA 2018
The visitors started off with a convincing victory in the opening clash. However, the hosts came back strongly with a 6 wickets victory courtesy a sensational knock by Heinrich Klassen and JP Duminy. The visitors pulled off a stunning victory in the decider yesterday courtesy some impressive showing by Suresh Raina and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The southpaw who made a comeback in this series scored a match-winning 43. He was adjudged the Player of the Series.
