Indian southpaw batsman Suresh Raina has sent his birthday greetings to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. On Monday (July 23), the leg-spinner Chahal is celebrating his 28th birth anniversary.

Both Raina and Chahal had recently represented India in the limited-overs leg against England.

In fact, Chahal has already received his birthday gift. The leg-spinner was able to make the cut in the India A squad for the South Africa tour.

Chahal is included in India A squad for South Africa tour:

However, Chahal didn’t have the best of England tour recently. The leggie took one wicket in the three-match Twenty20 International series. Furthermore, Chahal couldn’t improve in the wickets column. The Birthday boy took only two scalps in the One-Day series against England.

Therefore, Chahal could not find his place in the Test squad. However, Chahal is also making a strong case for himself to get selected in the Indian Test team.

In the 26 ODls, the leg-spinner has taken 45 wickets. Moreover, Chahal has scalped 42 wickets in the same number of matches in T20Is.

Consequently, Chahal is able to cement his place in the white-ball format after producing on a consistent basis.

He along with Kuldeep Yadav has been a regular in the limited-overs version after the Champions Trophy, last year. In fact, both the wrist spinners have been India’s trump cards. They have given crucial breakthroughs to their team in the middle overs.

Moreover, both of them have also not let the batsmen off the hook.

Hence, both the spinners have been instrumental in the success of the Men in Blue.

Raina took to Twitter to send his birthday wish to Yuzvendra Chahal.

Raina post read as, “Wish you a fantastic birthday buddy @yuzi_chahal ??Wish you all the success and happiness ahead! Have an amazing day brother!”.’
