Suresh Raina, former Indian middle-order batsman, recently met the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.

The former Indian cricketer went on to post the picture on his official Instagram account, captioning it as-

“It gives me immense pleasure to get the support of honourable @manojsinhabjp Sir, had a productive meeting today with him on working towards creating a platform for sports in Jammu and Kashmir. Let’s make it bigger!”

Suresh Raina will not be featuring in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League after the southpaw pulled out of the tournament due to ‘personal reasons’.

Suresh Raina’s family was attacked in Pathankot

As it turned out, his family was viciously attacked by a group of robbers in Pathankot which led to the demise of his uncle and his cousin while his aunt is still battling in the hospital and is reportedly in a critical state.

Earlier this week, three members of the gang were arrested by the Punjab police, following which Raina went on to thank the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amrinder Singh for the swift action.

Dinkar Gupta, Punjab Director General of Police, said that the accused belonged to an inter-state gang of robber-criminals who attacked Pathankot’s Tharyal village on the night of August 19.
