Meanwhile, Raina is gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The second-highest run-getter in the history of the competition will once again be a vital cog in Chennai Super Kings line-up as the three-time champions aim to shrug off last years’ heartbreak when they lost to Mumbai Indians in what turned out to be a cliffhanger of a final.

Raina has sweating it out in the nets in Ghaziabad alongside Delhi Capitals’ swashbuckler Rishabh Pant. He will be soon joining CSK’s training camp, which is reportedly said to take place at the Chepauk from August 16. Recently, Raina gave an interview to ANI where he reckoned that biggest the challenge will be the heat of the Emirates considering the fact that he and other players are coming after a 4-5 month lockdown

“…I think heat would be a big challenge and coming out of these 4-5 months of being in lockdown. But these four weeks of training before IPL can really get everyone back on track. I am really looking forward to going out there, face the UAE heat and play well,” Suresh Raina told ANI.

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will kickstart in the United Arab Emirates from September 19.
