Sachin Tendulkar has undoubtedly remained the heart of Indian cricket and the sport for more than two decades. The former batting maestro ruled over the bowlers and dominated elite bowlers like Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Glenn McGrath, and Andrew Caddick. He retired in 2013 as the highest run-getter in Test and ODI cricket after playing for 24 years. 2013 was also his last IPL season, having debuted in 2008.

Sushma Verma stated that IPL only interested her till the time Sachin Tendulkar made appearances for Mumbai Indians. Sushma admires Sachin and was hoping to see him play when the four-time champions arrived in Dharamshala. To her dismay, the 47-year old did not and that made her stop watching IPL.

I don’t watch much of IPL now. I used to watch Mumbai Indians play when Sachin used to be a part of it. I do admire Sachin Tendulkar a lot. Actually, Mumbai Indians had come to Dharamshala to play and I was hoping to see Sachin play. But Sachin did not turn up to play. So, after that I decided not to watch it again,” Sushma told Times of India.

The 27-year old remembered meeting recently-retired MS Dhoni and the entire team. The wicketkeeper-player recalled telling the former Indian captain that she keeps wickets too and received his good luck. Sushma hailed him for his batting and style of captaincy.

I have met Dhoni with the whole team and I introduced myself to him and told him that I am too a wicketkeeper. Then he told me to keep up the good work. I like his style of batting and he was a great Indian captain,” she added.
