Syed Kirmani Hails Ravichandran Ashwin, Calls Him Role Model for Youngsters

Former Team India stumper Syed Kiramani has hailed India’s tweaker Ravichandran Ashwin. Kirmani hailed the former No 1 Test bowler for his achievements and dedication to the game. Kirmani feels that the premier spinner in the longest format is a role model for young budding cricketers.
“I have no words to express the achievements which Ravichandran Ashwin has done. My heartiest congratulations to the would-be legend in the making,” Kirmani said. He was present in a function in Chennai to present the “Icon of Chennai” Award to Ashwin.

He further stated Ashwin as a pride of Tamil Nadu and the country. In such a short Test career Ashwin has already achieved enormous success. “Ashwin is the pride of Tamil Nadu and the country. He is a great role model to the youngsters of today, the millennials of today. He is such a gentleman cricketer, among all the other gentleman cricketers, he excels. I deem it an honour to honour Ashwin,” Kirmani said.
Kirmani further heaped praises on Ashwin for dedicating in all aspects of the game and in academics too. Ashwin was glad to receive the award and expressed his gratitude to the Rotary District.
There is no doubt about the fact that Ashwin is arguably the greatest spinner in the world in the longest format. The record which he possesses is simply phenomenal. Along with Jadeja, the duo ruled the top of the ICC rankings before India’s overseas tour of South Africa. However, he is yet to fully prove himself in tough overseas condition.
