Taapsee Pannu will Love to Play Mithali Raj in Her Biopic

Taapsee Pannu is keen on playing Mithali Raj in her biopic.

Bollywood actor, Taapsee Pannu has stated her interest in signing for the biopic on Indian Women’s cricketer and a former skipper, Mithali Raj.

However, Taapsee Pannu believes it is too early to talk about the project. Mithali has been a stalwart in the women’s game. She has been a prolific run-scorer and is the highest run scorer in the world in the women’s ODI cricket. Mithali Raj has scored over 6,000 runs at an average of well over 50 runs.

Viacom 18 Motion Pictures has acquired the rights for Mithali’s biopic. As per reports in the New Indian Express, it was learnt that the makers of the film were interested in signing Taapsee Pannu on board for the project.

She has been a wonderful actor in her brief career so far. All and sundry applauded her for her role in ‘Pink’.

“The script is not in place, so it’s too early to talk about it. Right now, they are collecting material, and the script has not been written yet.”

Taapsee Pannu excited to sign the biopic 

“If they offer me, I will be very happy. I really want to do a sports biopic,” Taapsee was quoted as saying when asked whether she is a part of the biopic.

There has been a buzz going around that Taapsee is also a part of the upcoming film ‘Womaniya’ by Anurag Kashyap. It is a film related to real life women sharpshooters. The actor stated she had read the script. However, she is waiting for everything to fall in the correct place.

“I am still waiting for them to package the film. The entire cast and crew need to fall in place. I am waiting for that to happen. If that happens, then there will be an official announcement but yes I have read the script,” she said.

Taapsee will be seen next on big screen in the courtroom drama ‘Mulk’. Anubhav Sinha has directed it.

“This is a very critical film for me. So many people had told me ‘Why do you want to do this film, let it go’. So this is a test of my gut feeling, especially this year, the films I am doing, it is going to be a judgement of my script selection,” she said.
