Tamil Nadu have included some heavyweight names such as Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay in the list of probables for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Out of bound India cricketer, Dinesh Karthik will lead the side in the domestic 50-over competition.

The team from the South will be keen to go all the way in this year’s competition after a poor outing in the last year. The last time Tamil Nadu won the competition was in 2016 when they beat Bengal in the final at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

The Dinesh Karthik-led side has also named all-rounder Vijay Shankar in the probables. Shankar has been struggling with injury since his ouster from the World Cup squad. It will be interesting to see whether he regains fitness to be available for selection in the final team. If he manages to be fit, it will be a real booster for Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay will look to leave an impression as they look to reclaim their spot in the Indian team. While Vijay has been out of the team owing to poor performances, the management prefered Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Ashwin in the recent West Indies series.

Abhinav Mukund, Murugan Ashwin, and India all-rounder Washington Sundar are the other big names to make it to the squad. The team also includes C Hari Nishaanth, who performed well in the recent Tamil Nadu Premier League. Former Tamil Nadu all-rounder D Vasu will be the head coach of the side.
