Australia’s fast bowler Pat Cummins has been in his pick in the calendar year 2019 finishing as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. Cummins has earned praise from all quarters including his Test skipper Tim Paine, who called him the best bowler in the world. The Aussie skipper also provided statistics from this year to justify his claims.
The 26-year-old returned with 54 wickets from 11 matches at an average of 20.61 including a ten-wicket haul. Cummins is currently the number one ranked bowler in ICC Test rankings and is placed 5th in the ODI rankings for bowlers. The New South Welshman played a significant role as Australia managed to retain the Ashes urn after keeping Ashes 2019 in a draw.

Cummins is the best bowler – Tim Paine
Pat Cummins will have a chance to increase the tally when Australia begin their second Test against New Zealand in Boxing Day (December 26). Ahead of the start of the match, his teammate Tim Paine has lavishly praised Pat Cummins and said his stats prove he is the best fast bowler in the world.
“He is clearly the best bowler in the world; his stats will probably back that up. Not just for one series, or one Test, or two Tests here or there, he has done it every game,” Paine said to cricket.com.au.
“I think he is getting better with experience as well, I think you are noticing he is not always bowling high-140s anymore, which is a great, great attribute and skill,” he added.
