Tom Moody Comes Up With Areas That Prithvi Shaw Must Work On After The Latter's Dismal Batting Display

Indian opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has not had a Test match to savour in Adelaide against Australia as he managed single-figure scores in both the innings. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins left his stumps cluttered as the Prithvi Shaw made 0 and 4 in the first and second innings respectively. Despite that, former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has expressed sympathy with the right-handed batsman.

Prithvi Shaw has copped criticism for his faulty technique against the new ball, mainly leaving too much gap between the bat and pad. On both the occasions, the right-handed batsman lost his stumps, getting dismissed cheaply to give Australia an opening. Shaw’s selection ahead of Shubman Gill for the opening Test received flak in the first place, having not impressed in the warm-up games either.
According to Tom Moody, Shaw remains an outstanding talent; however, he has the eagerness to power the ball. Furthermore, the 55-year old opines that the shortest format has impaired his technique, mainly playing away from their bodies.
