The legendary cricketer from the Windies finds a place in the list. The top-quality batsman had made things look easy during his times. He was one of the pillars for Windies across the formats, who performed brilliantly more often than not.

Meanwhile, while chasing in ODI games, he scored a massive 5425-run tally to his name. He appeared in 157 innings while chasing and batted at an average of 42.17. In total, he finished with 10405 runs in his 289 ODI matches.

Yet another stalwart player finds a place in the lineup. The Proteas superstar played beautifully throughout his career to hand memorable victories to his side. He has always been the tough bloke to crack down and garnered pretty good tally under his belt.

Coming to the stats, Jacques Kallis scored 5575 runs to his name at an incredible average of 44.95. He took 158 innings to collect those runs while chasing the target. In total, Kallis finished with 11579 runs in 328 matches.

3. Sanath Jayasuriya – 5742 runs

The swashbuckling cricketer has always played a major role in Sri Lanka’s plan, especially, in limited overs format of the game. He had got the knack of scoring runs at a quick pace by wielding his willow to perfection.

He had an average of 29.44 to his name while scoring 5742 runs in chasing the ODI totals. Jayasuriya appeared in 210 innings to achieve the feat and occupies the third place in the list. In total, he smashed  13430 runs to his name in 445 matches.

2. Virat Kohli – 6032 runs

Current Indian skipper Virat Kohli takes the second place in the list. The classy knocker of the ball has garnered the name of ”King of Chasing the totals”. Such has been his impact on international cricket and his approach to the game.

He gathered 6032 runs in just 116 innings while chasing the ODI format. During the course, the quality stroke-maker averaged as much as 68.54, which is most for any player in the cricketing world. He is still serving his country with 9919 runs in his 212 ODI appearances.

Here comes the fitting name at the top of the list. The legendary and a god-like figure Sachin Tendulkar finds a place with his massive score. He was the wrecker-in-chief for Team India and his performance on the given day will directly be proportional to the end-result for the side.

Coming to his tally, he registered as many as 8720 runs to his name. He took 232 innings to achieve the feat at an average of 42.33. He finished his career as the leading run-getter across the formats in World Cricket.
