Sam Curran rescued Chennai Super Kings from a highly precarious position in the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians in Sharjah. Sam Curran was head and shoulders above the rest of the batsmen as he scored a half-century to steer his side to 114-8 in 20 overs. Nevertheless, Trent Boult’s stunning yorker cleaned him up in the final ball of the innings to record the best figures of IPL 2020.

Before Trent Boult claimed his fourth wicket of the match with a perfect yorker, Sam Curran slammed the left-arm seamer for two boundaries in an over. The Kiwi bowler, who missed his lengths multiple times, destroyed Curran’s off-stump as the southpaw walked to the off-side for hitting a boundary. Nevertheless, the 22-year old earned respect for playing a lone hand. Meanwhile, Boult removed Faf Du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ravindra Jadeja earlier.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field first. Regular captain Rohit Sharma was forced to sit out, owing to a hamstring injury with Kieron Pollard taking on the captain’s hat. On the other hand, the three-time champions or Chennai Super Kings made three changes by leaving Shane Watson, Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla for Imran Tahir, Ishank Jaggi, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Here’s how Trent Boult comprehensively castled Sam Curran:
