After a thumping win in the second T20I in Mohali, Team India failed to get going in the ongoing third T20I in Bengaluru. The Men in Blue ended their innings on a modest 134 for 9.

Skipper Virat Kohli’s decision to bat first turned out to be poor one as Rohit Sharma failed for the second game in a row. The in-form opener, who had managed just 12 in the previous game, was out for just 9 in the ongoing one. Rohit started well, hitting two fours before Beuran Hendricks cut short his knock.

Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli then steadied the ship and put India in a good position. Kohli, who had scored an unbeaten 72 in the previous game, was not looking sharp but with Dhawan looking good, the run-rate was pretty healthy. They took the score past the 50-run mark before Dhawan miscued a Tabriaz Shamsi delivery to be out for 36. Five runs later, Kagiso Rabada dismissed Kohli too to leave India reeling at 68 for 3 from 63 for 1.

Rishabh Pant got the start but failed to capitalise on it and was out for 19. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and Krunal Pandya failed too as India found themselves 6 down for just 98. Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya then provided the much-needed solidity with the bat but with the team in such trouble, they could not go all out with the bat. Both of them departed in the very final over bowled by Rabada. India eventually ended on 134 for 9.

The hosts, meanwhile, have an unassailable lead in the three-match series. Even if they lose the game, they will not lose the series. The fans, however, were not at all impressed with the performance and took to Twitter to slam the players.
