India was in no position to score that many they have at SuperSports Park, Centurion. The men in blue were struggling at the end of powerplay at 48-3, losing their cream with the new ball.

A fluent looking Suresh Raina soon perished with 30 to his name and the onus was then on the likes of Manish Pandey and MS Dhoni to take their team to a decent total.

After the dismal performance at Jo’Burg where Pandey struggled through his 27-ball 29, MSD had an even greater responsibility to finish the inning for his team.

There had been a lot of talks regarding Dhoni’s ability to strike the ball, and his diminishing finishing credentials. The greatest wicket-keeper batsman had a point or two to prove that an ageing tiger still remains a tiger.

Pandey responded brilliantly to the situation and stitched a game-changing partnership with the champion at the other end. The two middle-order batsmen added 98 to the total to create a record for the fifth wicket partnership in T20I cricket.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni smashed his second T20I century with his unbeaten knock of 52 which came off just 28 balls. 17 of which came in the final five deliveries of the innings, which incidentally also was the highlight of the innings.

Often criticized for his slow knock, MS Dhoni struck the ball at 182 today in the second T20I. Needless to say, MSD’s epic knock, bringing back time, created quite a frenzy on Twitter.
