New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has hit the ground running in international cricket with a scintillating double century against West Indies in the ongoing first Test at Seddon Park, Hamilton. The right-handed batsman was eventually out for 251.
Kane Williamson brought up the milestone during the second session on day two on Friday. Earlier in the day, he also registered his 22nd Test ton. Resuming on his overnight score of 97, the 30-year-old reached his 22nd ton with a four off Kemar Roach. He kept piling on the runs against the visitors as New Zealand built a big first innings score on the back of their skipper’s stunning century.
The New Zealand batting mainstay brought his century with a four off Roach. He went to register his highest score in Test cricket before being sent back Alzarri Joseph. Kane Williamson’s 251-run knock came off 412 balls and was studded with 34 fours and a couple of sixes.
His previous highest score in Test was an unbeaten 242 against Sri Lanka at the Basin Reserve in January 2015. Kane Williamson’s other Test double ton came in Hamilton too against Bangladesh in February last year. Kane Williamson has a stunning record in Hamilton. He now has two double centuries and three tons at Seddon Park in 17 innings – all coming within his last 10 innings here.

Third double hundred for Kane Williamson in Test cricket – 201* from 369 balls including 30 fours – innings of highest quality when ball was doing a lot. Top knock from one of the best in the generation. In November, he was batting in middle order or playing as finisher in T20 and in December, he is scoring double hundred in Test cricket – This is two extremes in cricket and Kane Williamson doing with 100% perfection. This makes him special, very special.

Take a bow @<!---->N<!---->o<!---->t<!---->N<!---->o<!---->s<!---->s<!---->y! To bat for 412 deliveries on a green top (pic of the pitch enclosed) after a long long gap in test cricket & score 251 is a massive achievement.
