South Africa had an edge in the morning session of Day 2 after Kagiso Rabada denied India quick wickets.

South Africa’s overnight batsman Dean Elgan (4) went shortly as he edged one through to Parthiv Patel’s gloves off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Since then, night watchman Kagiso Rabada and Hashim Amla looked in complete control as Indian bowlers found it tough to break the partnership.

In a pitch, where only three Indian batsmen got to the double-digit figure, Rabada played some glorious shots off Indian pacers. Hashim Amla was once again brilliant doing his job. He maintained a good strike-rate and ensured that the pressure is always on the opposition.

However, Rabada (30) departed minutes before the lunch as he knicked one off Ishant Sharma to the safe hands of Ajinkya Rahane at fourth slip.

South Africa went into the lunch with 81 for three as Amla (32*) and AB de Villiers (0*) is at the crease.
