South Africa bounced back strongly in the 2nd Test at St Georges Park in Port Elizabeth to level the 4 match series 1-1. It was a thoroughly professional performance by the hosts to force their way back into the Test series. It was Australia who batted first and managed to score 243 in their 1st innings. The South African bowlers were quite brilliant as they never allowed Australia to run away with the game.

Openers Cameron Bancroft and David Warner shared a 98 runs stand for the opening wicket but from there on it was a procession of sorts. Warner was the top scorer for Australia in the 1st innings scoring 63 of 100 deliveries. The southpaw struck 9 fours during his knock. Kagiso Rabada bagged 5 wickets while Lungisani Ngidi also chipped in with 3.

South Africa responded very well and secured a lead of 139 runs. It was a brilliant knock of 126 runs by AB de Villiers which propelled South Africa to a score of 382 runs. It was a great effort by the South African batsmen which helped them secure a massive lead. De Villiers was at his usual best and made stroke-making look ridiculously easy.

Kagiso Rabada was simply spectacular yet again in the 2nd innings and ended up bagging 6 wickets. It was courtesy his spell that Australia was skittled out for just 239 runs, this setting South Africa a modest target of 102 runs to chase in their 4th innings. It should have been an easy chase and ended up winning the match by 6 wickets.

Amla and De Villiers scored 28 and 27 respectively as South Africa reached the target with utmost ease. This makes the series pretty interesting. However, they have been jolted by the fact that their inform fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will be missing the next two Tests as he will be serving a two-match suspension.

Twitterati was pretty active throughout the match. Here are some tweets which described the proceedings in the best possible manner.
