After the splendid 2017, India’s vice-captain is going through a torrid 2018.

Following a poor tour of South Africa, Rohit Sharma yet again failed to open his account against his favourite opposition, Sri Lanka.

It was expected that India’s stand-in captain, with Virat Kohli rested, would return to his majestic form in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy. Asian giants Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in subcontinental condition are considered to be a stronger suit for the Mumbai Indians captain.

However, Rohit proved that his poor form is not based on techniques in overseas condition but a psychological factor.

In his last three innings, Rohit has a couple of ducks, as opposed to the two ducks in his first 72 T20I innings.

Although, the credit of the dismissal must also be given to Jeevan Mendis who ran many a mile to complete a sensational catch.

Sharma tried to dominate the opposition by playing a forceful shot over the 30-yard circle with the field restrictions in place.

That said, Rohit could not middle the ball properly, as his shot over mid-off had more elevation than distance. As a result, the Mumbai batsman handed a difficult catch to Mendis.

Rohit Sharma, during the South African series, had no answer to the incoming deliveries from Kagiso Rabada. He went on to become his favourite bunny during the ODI and Test series.

Following a dismal couple of legs in the tour, Rohit became the ideal victim of Junior Dala who claimed his wicket in all three games of the T20I series.

It seems as if Twitterati was waiting to explode as Rohit Sharma tweets clogged the entire social media platform. With his dismissal in the very first over, the 30-year old ‘talented’ cricketer went trending within minutes.
