Twitter Fumes In Anger After India's Batting Collapse In Ahmedabad
Updated - 25 Feb 2021, 05:32 PM
The Indian batsmen displayed another poor show in Ahmedabad when they took on England in the third Test of the four-match series. After starting Day 02 on 98/3, the hosts’ batting line-up saw another batting collapse after Adelaide, but this time, against the English spinners. This was India’s second debacle in Pink-ball Tests consecutively, after being demolished by Australia in Adelaide.
The second day of the third Test match did not start on a good note for the Indian cricket team as they lost their vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. What followed was a flurry of wickets as Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel all followed him to the pavilion in a very short span of time.

Joe Root and Jack Leach were among the pick of the bowlers for England. Root picked 5 wickets, whereas, Leach picked 4 wickets. The men in blue could only score 145 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in the second innings. Twitter was absolutely furious with the hosts as they saw another debacle.
The hosts could only manage a lead of 33 runs in the second innings. The national bowlers had done well in the first innings as they had dismissed the English team for just 112 runs in the first innings. Rohit Sharma was the only host batsman to have scored a half-century. Let’s take a look at the Tweets from the Indian cricket fraternity after their demolition.
Incredible session. Still can’t believe what happened. England well and truly back in the game. #INDvENG @StarSportsIndia

Now, the hosts only lead by 33 runs after the second innings as the English cricket team will walk out to bat in the third innings. It will be very crucial for team India to restrict the English team to a very minute score as a loss in the Test match will leave them evicted from the ICC World Test Championship.
