IND vs SA: Twitter Reacts As Temba Bavuma Scores Second ODI Century
South Africa captain Temba Bavuma scored his second century in ODIs and led the way for his side to make a comeback after losing three wickets early in the innings.
The first of the three ODIs is underway at Boland Park where South Africa opted to bat. They lost Janneman Malan, Quinton de Kock, and Aiden Markram with the score reading just 68 on a slow track.
Bavuma then partnered up with Rassie van der Dussen to rebuild the innings. While Bavuma played the role of the anchor and rotated the strike, Rassie played a strike rate of over 100 throughout his innings.
He ensured that the scoreboard kept ticking and once he settled in, began taking on the bowlers. Bavuma, on the other hand, played a captain’s knock and ensured his team can hold down one side.
Although the track seemed slow and low in the beginning, set batters have a much better time in the middle. Although there is nothing much in the pitch for the bowlers, a target of 290+ could be challenging under lights.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Temba Bavuma’s century:
The fact that Glenn Maxwell’s 41-ball century in Melbourne & Temba Bavuma’s 133-ball century in Paarl against the white ball, some two hours apart, are being celebrated with equal admiration makes cricket such a special but strange sport for those who don’t get it #<!---->S<!---->A<!---->v<!---->I<!---->N<!---->D #<!---->B<!---->B<!---->L<!---->1<!---->1
