Fresh off the historic win in the first T20I, Bangladesh scored a modest 153 for 6 in the second match of the three-game series against India.

Put in to bat first, Bangladesh started brightly with the bat. Mohammad Naim set the tone for the innings by hitting three consecutive four off Khaleel Ahmed in the very second over. Naim hit Khaleel for two more fours as the visitors raced away to 41 after 5 overs. In the sixth over, India came close to taking their first wicket when Yuzvendra Chahal had Liton Das stumped.

However, replays showed Rishabh Pant had collected the ball before it passed the stumps and thus the decision was overturned. In the very next over, Das got another reprieve with Rohit Sharma being the culprit this time as the India skipper dropped the opener. But Das finally ran out of luck in the eighth over as he was run out by Pant. The dismissal ended the 60-run stand for the first wicket.

Naim and Soumya Sarkar then added 23 runs for the second wicket before Washington Sundar dismissed the former for 36. Yuzvendra Chahal then dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim and Sarkar in quick succession to reduce Bangladesh to 103 for 4 from 83 from 1. But before India could tighten up things, Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah managed to stop the rot.

While he did not get much support from the other hand, Mahmudullah made sure to keep the scoreboard ticking at a healthy rate. But he too could not last till the end and departed in the 19th over after scoring 30 with the help of four boundaries. Bangladesh eventually ended their innings on 153. India need to chase down the total in order to keep the three-match series alive.
