Twitter Sense Foul Play As India Lose To England At Edgbaston

India’s unbeaten run in the ongoing World Cup 2019 came to an end on Sunday with a 31-run loss to England. The Men in Blue are still in a strong position to make it to the semifinal but the loss must have dented their confidence ahead of the most crucial phase of the tournament. India will play against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in their last two league games and need just one point to seal a spot.
England, on the other hand, also have their destiny in their own hands. A win over New Zealand in their final league game will take them to the semifinal. Keeping aside the result of the game and its impact on the tournament, the cricketing world is baffled with the way India approached the game. India’s tactics were utterly baffling as they lost the high-scoring encounter by 31 runs.
Congratulations to England for the win. Time to regroup and get back on track next against Bangladesh ?? #TeamIndia #ENGvIND #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/s8Iz9w6Yl7

Chasing 338, India showed no urgency at the start. After losing KL Rahul for a duck, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli managed just 28 runs from the first ten overs. But before England could take full command of the game, the two batted India out of trouble. Rohit Sharma scored a century while Virat Kohli scored another fifty as the two revived the chase.
The equation was finally down to 71 runs from 5 overs. With MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav at the crease, the game was looking set for a grand finish. However, what followed in the final five overs left everyone utterly surprised.

Dhoni and Jadhav never looked like taking the attack to the opposition. Both Dhoni and Jadhav looked more than content to knock the ball around rather than going for big hits. They managed just 39 runs in the final five overs as India suffered their first loss of the competition.
India’s loss has dealt a huge blow to Pakistan’s chances of progressing ahead and many think that India lost the game intentionally to hurt their arch-rivals. Here are some of the reactions:
Would the batting be as listless if our place in the semifinals was at stake here rather than England’s & Pakistan’s? #CWC19

If @ICC should investigate one match for fixing, this is the match #indiavsEngland at Edgbaston. I don't say this is for money: this may be a 'strategic match fixing' to keep a certain team out of the semi finals. This type of fixing is also against the spirit of cricket.

When @icc banned Muhammad Amir the officials said that Amir beached the trust of cricket lovers. Today, even commentators were surprised to see the way India was playing. Now, would @icc investigate #ENGvIND match on the same basis for strategic match fixing?@ICC

The @ICC should investigate Indian cricket team for match-fixing against England, for deliberately throwing a match away. Or the ICC only investigates cricket teams from poor countries #IndvEng #CWC19

If the ICC does not charge the entire Indian team for match fixing then maybe it can tell us who to bet for in the next matches. Lets all play in that case

Level of Match Fixing .
20 Singles taken in the last 30 balls. Are we fools that we don't understand that this game was fixed to kick out Pak? Happy to see Pak Out but never wanted Indian team to lose in a Give-Up manner. Disgusted. Not at all a Fight.#INDvENG

Indian cricket exposed yet again!#MatchFixing at its worst bang in the face of the @ICC
Will @ICC quietly let it slide under pressure of the mafia (that controls it) or will it take the culprits to task?

Very strange end to this game. Was great until the last few overs. ? #ENGIND
