Out of favor Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is up for grabs ahead of the 2019 IPL auction. Kings XI Punjab released the all-rounder after the veteran failed to fire with the bat. Punjab will gun for glory this time around as they missed out on lifting the cup in yet another season

Yuvraj Singh’s patchy form a concern

The southpaw had decent outings in the domestic circuit. The left-handed batter managed to score just one fifty in his last seven innings. Apart from a gritty 96 against Railways, Yuvraj got into the forties just twice. He had a patchy IPL season as well. While his teammates KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and Karun Nair plundered the attack, Yuvraj struggle to get starts.

He was listed in this year’s auction at a price of INR 2 Crore. The experienced campaigner was snapped by the Kings-led by Ravichandran Ashwin. In the eight games he played in, the middle-order batsman scored 65 runs at an average of 10.83. The internet though still hasn’t given up on one of India’s biggest match-winners. He is still a favorite on Twitter as fans want Chennai Super Kings to rope in the dynamic player.

Yuvraj hasn’t given up on IPL action

Earlier this year, Yuvraj had said that he wants to play in the coming 2-3 seasons of the IPL. “I want to go when I feel it is the right time to go, when I feel I have done my best and I could not have done any more than this,” Yuvraj told Sportstar. “I am still playing because I am enjoying playing cricket, not just because I have to play for India or I have to play the IPL. The motivation is definitely to play for India. I feel two or three IPLs are left in me.”

The fact that Chennai have backed veterans goes well with Yuvraj-fanatics. The MS Dhoni-led side picked quite a lot of experienced players who were well over thirties. They ended up winning the coveted trophy and proved a point to the critics. For Yuvraj, this will be the perfect platform to put up a show and add sparkles to his glorious career.
