Two Changes India Might Make in the Decider Tomorrow

Probable India Squad for Asia Cup 2018.

England has kept the 3 match ODI series alive by winning the 2nd ODI against India quite convincingly by 86 runs. It was a thoroughly professional performance by the home team who made a strong comeback after a very poor performance in the opening clash. They did the same thing in the T20I series but couldn’t quite go on to win the series. It will be a tough ask for them in the decider tomorrow. However given the team England have, they have a serious chance to win yet another limited over series.

On the other hand, India has some serious talent in their line-up and will look to continue their dominant run in all forms of cricket. If they manage to win the series, it will be their 4th consecutive bilateral series victories in limited overs cricket.

Virat Kohli might be tempted to make a few changes for the decider. He has a tendency to alter with playing line-up on several occasions. It was quite evident in the T20I decider when he decided to drop Kuldeep Yadav who has been simply superb in the tour so far.

Let us now have a look at two possible changes for tomorrow’s match

Dinesh Karthik for Suresh Raina

Karthik has been pretty unfortunate in the ongoing series to not make it to the playing XI. He played one of the greatest match winning knocks albeit it was only of 9 deliveries. In the Nidahas Trophy final against Bangladesh, he won the final for India from an utterly hopeless situation. He has looked in very good touch wherever he has played.

He has always been a stylish top order batsman but due to a certain MS Dhoni, he has never managed to be a permanent fixture in the team. But he has been quite impressive in the recent times. He led the Kolkata Knight Riders quite admirably in the IPL.

Leading a young team he performed quite brilliantly and led from the front. He might be a possible choice for tomorrow’s match in favour of Suresh Raina. The southpaw looked in good touch in the previous ODI. However given Kohli’s tendency to change with the XI, Karthik might get a look in the decider.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Siddharth Kaul

Bhuvneshwar Kumar reveals how he convinced his parents of getting him selected in a cricket academy.

There is no doubt about the fact that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the finest Indian bowlers in the modern generation. He is a class act and can be a tough nut to crack especially in the limited overs format. Bhuvi is a terrific death overs bowlers and his Yorkers and slower deliveries are simply of high quality.

He has been out of the side due to an injury. It forced him to miss the deciding T20i and the first two ODI’s. He is definitely a big match player and if fit he will definitely replace Siddharth Kaul in the playing XI. He can solve the death bowling woes for India in the must-win clash. Bhuvi has leaked runs in some of the matches so far but on a big day, he might just be the difference for the visitors.
