Under-19 Asia Cup 2018: India Under-19 vs Nepal Under-19 - Match Report

It was a one-sided affair when the India Under-19 juggernauts locked horns with Nepal Under-19 in their first match of the ongoing Under-19 Asia Cup. Pawan Shah led side was able to cruise to a comfortable win by a gargantuan margin of 172 runs. Nepal’s skipper Asif Sheikh won the toss and decided to bowl first at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 3 Ground, Savar.

India Under-19 were able to post a huge total of 304-9 in their quota of fifty overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his dream form going as the southpaw batsman scored 104 off just 113 balls. The left-hander scored as many as eight boundaries and five maximums in his blistering knock. Therefore, he was awarded the Player of the match.

In fact, the Indian openers were able to put a partnership of 81 runs for the first wicket. However, the Indian wicketkeeper PrabhSimran Singh was able to boost India’s total to 304. India’s gloveman rode his innings in the topmost gear as he scored a quickfire 61-ball 82. The right-hander smashed half a dozen fours and three sixes in his top knock.

On the other hand, Nepal bowlers didn’t have much to cheer about. Bhim Sharki scalped four wickets whereas Rashid Khan took two wickets for them.

India Under-19, Asia Cup

India Under-19 bowlers were able to skittle out Nepal for a paltry score of 133 and thus won the contest by a mammoth margin of 172 runs. Thus, India was able to completely dominate their first match of the Under-19 Asia Cup.

In fact, no Nepal batsman was able to cross the 30-run mark. Siddharth Desai and Harsh Tyagi scalped three wickets each whereas Mohit Jangra took two wickets. Meanwhile, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan were also able to win their respective matches.
