Rohit Sharma’s injury saga is still not clear at all. The India opener has returned to action in the ongoing IPL and has already played two matches without any trouble despite not being named in the squads for the upcoming tour of Australia. The selectors did not name him in the squads due to a hamstring injury.

With the tour more than a month away, the selectors’ decision made many believe that Rohit Sharma’s injury was serious. But just moments after the squad announcement, the batsman returned to training in the nets, leaving many surprised.

Following his return to the nets, India head coach Ravi Shastri as well as BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had advised him not to rush his comeback but Rohit Sharma sprung another surprise by returning to action for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this week before leading Mumbai Indians again in Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals on Thursday.

Rohit removes India cricketer tag:

The way the entire saga has panned out, it is more or less clear that there is something more to it than meets the eye. Despite being undeclared fit by the BCCI medical team, Rohit Sharma has constantly maintained that his hamstring ‘is fine, absolutely’.

The BCCI’s reluctance to give a statement on Rohit Sharma’s injury so far has further raised the eyebrows too. The rumours of the alleged rift between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has resurfaced too. Amidst all these, rumours are doing the rounds that the India opener has removed India cricketer’s tag from his bio on his social media accounts.

According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, Rohit Sharma has been sending soft signals of displeasure after he was not included in the Australia tour party. And one of those signals was dropping the ‘India cricketer’ tag from his social media handles.

At present, there is indeed no tag of India cricketer on Rohit’s social media handles but a section of fans on social media are claiming that the batsman had never used that tag.

Whatever be the reality, one can say that things are not as simple as the BCCI is trying to portray. Their silence on Rohit’s open defiance to play with an injury is enough to make it clear that not everything is fine between the player and the board.
