The opening partnership provided a stable platform that gave the likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana the freedom to play freely and score at an even rate. Rinku Singh and David Wiese provided the finishing touches for their team.
RCB had a tough time chasing the total after losing three crucial wickets early in the powerplay. Skipper Virat Kohli alongside Mahipal Lomror tried to get the innings back on track but the duo did not get support from any other batter as RCB’s innings ended with just 179 runs on the board at the loss of 8 wickets with spinner Varun Chakaravarthy bagging 3 wickets.
