The 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw the Mumbai Indians clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad away from their homes. Both the teams put on a great display of batting and some decent subterfuge as the balance of the match swung back and forth during the match.

However, it was once again Tilak Varma who served as the saving grace alongside Cameron Green as he came in handy complementing the people around him and to post 194 runs on the board. Mumbai at one point and were ready to drop off with wickets tumbling but it was Green who kept his team in the game.

Chasing the massive target SRH had a dismissive collapse as the majority of their top tumbled after another, leaving Mumbai with Hyderabad on the back foot with their strict bowling. However, it was Mayank Agarwal who stood tall alongside Heinrich Klaasen as Sunrisers reached closer towards the total.

While at one point it looked like Hyderabad would run away with the game, it was Riley Meredith who provided Mumbai Indians the breakthrough as he dismissed Mayank Agarwal, leaving SRH to chase 50 runs with 4 overs left in the game. Arjun Tendulkar managed to hold his nerve in the final over as Mumbai won the game by 14 runs.

Some big changes to the IPL 2023 points table with Mumbai Indians moving up two spots on the points table as they reach the 6th spot while KKR and RCB drop down to 7th and 8th positions. Despite the loss against Mumbai remain in the 9th spot on the points table.

The IPL Orange Cap standings remain the same with Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf Du Plessis at the top of the rankings with 259 runs to his name. Venkatesh Iyer who was at the top has slipped down to the second spot followed by the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, and David Warner standing at the fifth spot.

IPL 2023: Purple Cap Standings

No major changes to the Purple Cap standings as the top four remain the same with Rajasthan’s Yuzvendra Chahal right on the top with 11 wickets followed by Mark Wood and Rashid Khan with 11 wickets each as they stand at 2nd and 3rd. Mohammed Shami stands at 4th with 10 wickets to his name and is followed by Chennai’s Tushar Deshpande with 10 wickets to his name.
