Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja were the shining light for the Indian Cricket Team in the first ODI against West Indies. The left-arm spinners wreaked havoc across the opposition’s batting lineup and made them win the first game. 

Ravindra Jadeja broke the backbone of the West Indies batting lineup as he picked up three wickets in no time. He removed Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd to return with the figures of 3/37 in his 6 overs.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav made West Indies batters look clueless as he recorded his second-best figures. The left-arm chinaman returned with the figures of 4/6 and his exceptional spell saw India bundling out the hosts for just 114 runs. He also won Player of the Match for his heroics. 

After the game, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav had a candid chat with each other in which they talked about their performances. The clip starts with the all-rounder teasing the spinner for his hairstyle.

, they said: “Kuldeep has brought a cool hairstyle with him from India in this warm weather in Barbados. Only long hair can protect you in this heat, if you keep short hair here, your head will burn down,” in the video posted by BCCI on social media, Ravindra Jadeja said.

“I am following Ravindra Jadeja in everything he does, he is my favourite,” Kuldeep Yadav replied.

IND vs WI: I think we bowled just like a pair should – Kuldeep Yadav on bowling with Ravindra Jadeja 

Kuldeep Yadav also lauded Ravindra Jadeja for his stupendous bowling effort and said that together they bowled well.

He added: “[To Jadeja] When you came into the attack, you kept taking wickets in a heap and then I came in and took the rest. I think we bowled just like a pair should, we bowled like a good bowling unit.” 

After bundling out West Indies for 114 runs, they changed their batting positions with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli demoting themselves. Ishan Kishan smashed a solid half-century but others failed to make a mark before the Indian captain along with Jadeja finished the game inside 23 overs with five wickets in hand.

India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The second game of the series will be played on Saturday (29th July) at the same venue.
