Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan shared a few moments of banter during the encounter between their respective sides in Ahmedabad on Thursday night.

It all happened after the third delivery of the 12th over when Dinesh Karthik made a stumping appeal after Shikhar Dhawan failed to clip away a back-of-length delivery by Varun Chakravarthy that was spinning down the leg-stump.

The only problem was that Shikhar Dhawan’s foot never left the ground and Karthik didn’t even appeal to the umpire. In fact, he was appealing to Dhawan himself, and in return, the southpaw hilariously came down to his knees while being inside the crease.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are on course to a thumping win over Kolkata Knight Riders thanks to the belligerence of Prithvi Shaw.

Chasing 155, DC got off to a sensational start as the pocket-size dynamo smoked six consecutive fours off Shivam Mavi in the first over of the innings.

Prithvi Shaw and Delhi Capitals never really looked back after that as the diminutive opener pulverized the Knight Riders bowling attack to all corners of the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Shaw hammered his way to an 18-ball half-century which is the fastest by any batsmen this season and also the joint-second fastest by a Delhi Capitals player.

Shikhar Dhawan, who played second fiddle to Shaw throughout his innings, as the duo racked up a 132-run-stand in just 13.5 overs.

Dhawan was eventually dismissed for a 47-ball 46 when he missed a straight ball from Pat Cummins in an attempt to flick him across the line.

Prithvi Shaw too perished in an attempt to hit another lofted drive over wide long-on for a 41-ball 82 but by then the damage had already been done.
