Former South African skipper and Chennai Super Kings opener, Faf du Plessis, may have pulled out the catch of the season to send Manish Pandey packing in the ongoing encounter against Sunrises Hyderabad.

It all happened on the penultimate ball of the 18th over when Manish Pandey clubbed a full-length delivery bowled by Lungi Ngidi towards wide long-on.

The ball was miles away from Faf du Plessis but the South African cricketer proceeded to sprint to his right in no time and ended up taking an outrageous catch airborne.

The wicket of Manish Pandey (61 off 46 balls) was the second scalp that Lungi Ngidi got within a space of five balls, having claimed Sunrises Hyderabad captain David Warner previously.

The double scalps proved to be a blessing in disguise for the Orange Army as Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav got quickfire runs to ensure that the 2016 champions got to the 171-run mark.

Williamson smashed four fours and one six in his rapid 10-ball 26 while Kedar Jadhav too chipped in with a valuable 4-ball 12.
