England left-arm spinner Jack Leach showed great spirit after a bald fan near the boundary ropes asked him to autograph his scalp and the cricketer obliged much to the cheer of the crowd present for the fourth Test between England and Australia which started on January 5, 2022, in Sydney.
In what was a rain-affected day one of the Sidney Cricket Ground (SCG) Test match, the two sides shared the honors as the home team finished with a score of 126/3 in 46.5 overs. Australia got a positive start after opened David Warner and Marcus Harris added 51 runs for the first wicket.
Harris and Marnus Labuschagne cashes on a good start and put up 60 runs for the 2nd wicket while the 3rd wicket pair of Labuschagne and Steve Smith only managed to add 6 runs before the former was dismissed.
For England, the veteran bowling pair of Stuart Broad and James Anderson scalped one wicket each, while left-arm spinner Jack Leach also picked one wicket. The pacers bowled the majority of the overs for the Three Lions and spinner Jack Leach was handed the ball for only 2 overs.
Jack Leach Obliges A Fan With An Autograph On His Bald Head
While Jack Leach spend most of the day on the outfield or in the pavilion due to rain or Joe Root employing his fast bowlers for most of the 46.5 overs that were bowled, the left-arm spectacled spinner did have his moment to shine, which came courtesy a hilarious moment that happened when he obliged a fan with an autograph.
However, this was not a regular occurrence of a cricketer autographing a fan on the boundary line on a bat or hat or cap. Leach was asked by a fan on the boundary line to autograph his bald head and with the SCG crowd cheering for Leach to do it, the spinner obliged him by signing his name on the crown of the bald-headed fan, much to the laughter from the crowd.
The moment was captured on the camera with Leach trying to keep a straight face while autographing the fan’s head.
