IPL 2021: Watch - MS Dhoni Tosses Autographed Ball To A Girl Shedding Tears Of Joy After CSK Defeated DC In Qualifier 1

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni, gifted an autographed ball to a young girl who was crying tears of joy in the stands after CSK defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in the first Qualifier on Sunday. The win sent Dhoni and co. into the finals of the IPL 2021 season.

The veteran skipper applied the finishing touches to a topsy-turvy playoff match in Dubai. Needing 13 off the last over, Dhoni tore into Tom Curran to end the game in style. After the winning runs were scored and Dhoni returned to the pavilion, a young girl was seen enjoying the victory in the stands.

She was overwhelmed with emotions after CSK entered the final. Dhoni then grabbed the match ball and signed it, before tossing it up to the young girl. The gesture won the hearts of the fans on the internet.

CSK enter the finals of IPL 2021 after a narrow 4-wicket victory

Delhi was asked to bat first by Dhoni on a good batting track in Dubai. They were propelled by a wonderful Prithvi Shaw innings but lost their way in the middle overs. A partnership between Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer then ensure that DC would end with a par total of 172.

CSK lost their top run-scorer, Faf du Plessis, in the first over itself. Robin Uthappa, playing in place of Suresh Raina, then built a 110-run partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Once again, a sudden collapse from CSK allowed the Capitals to come back into the game.

Thirteen runs were needed off the final over bowled by Tom Curran. Dhoni shouldered the responsibility and turned back the clock in vintage fashion to help his side over the line with two balls to spare. This is CSK’s 9th IPL final overall.
