Australia National Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The decision proved to be beneficial for Pat Cummins & Co. as the Proteas batters struggled heavily against the fierce Aussie attack.
During the 40th over of the first innings, Ricky Ponting, who is considered a sensational reader of the game, while commentating for 7 Cricket made a brilliantly accurate prediction about Jansen’s dismissal.

The 40th over was bowled by veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon and the legendary Australian captain Ponting said moments before the 5th ball was bowled that the Aussies want Jansen to play a shot over the top and that is what exactly happened.
“Nathan Lyon is halfway through his fourth over, only given up the 8 runs. They’ve got mid-on three-quarters the way back. They are tempting him with a build-up of pressure to try and hit over the top,” Ponting said while commentating for 7 Cricket moments before the 5th ball was bowled.
On the 5th ball of the 40th over, Lyon pitched the ball on a full length just outside off-stump and the Proteas all-rounder danced down the track to smash the ball with the turn over midwicket.
However, he failed to make a good connection with the ball and ended up top-edging it. The ball went very high into the air and Cameron Green ran back from midwicket with his eyes on the ball and managed to take a clean catch.
