IND vs SL: Watch - Shreyas Iyer Gets Dismissed On 92 On Day 1 Of Bengaluru Test

Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer battled through and was well on course for his second Test century before being undone by the Sri Lankan spinner, Praveen Jayawickrama, on Day 1 of the second and final Test in Bengaluru.
Iyer put on a batting masterclass against spin bowling on a track that turned viciously and also had uneven bounce. While most of the batters received unplayable deliveries, several others went out due to soft dismissals.
Iyer walked in after Virat Kohli fell in the first session and began rebuilding the innings with Rishabh Pant. After the latter fell for a quickfire 39, Iyer took over and started milking runs at will against the spinners.

In the company of the lower-order, Iyer ensured that India went past 250 before he fell in the nervous nineties. He tried to dance down the track to Jayawickrama but the ball deviated off the surface and Iyer was also beaten in flight. Niroshan Dickwella did the rest behind the stumps, causing heartbreak at the Chinnaswamy.
Earlier, after opting to bat first, India was down to 29/2 with both the openers back in the hut. Kohli and Hanuma Vihari looked good and carried on before both fell moments before Lunch.

Pant played a typical counter-attacking innings but he ran out of luck after a while. The previous game’s Player of the Match, Ravindra Jadeja, couldn’t do much and neither could the rest.
However, Iyer played around with the tail-enders, hogging the strike and piling on the runs via boundaries. Unfortunately, he was done in by his own aggression eventually.
