Team India, on Sunday, once again showed their fighting spirit by putting up a brave fight with the bat on day three of the ongoing fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane. In reply to Australia’s first innings total of 369, India were reduced to 161 for 5 and then 186 for 6. With all their recognised batsmen back in the hut, Australia were looking set to take a big lead.

However, Team India turned things around in a remarkable fashion thanks to stunning fifties from Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur. The duo shared a 123-run stand for the seventh wicket, helping India post 336 which is their highest total in the series so far. Thakur scored 67 while debutant Sundar played a stunning knock of 62.

After the day’s play, Ravichandran Ashwin, who is not playing the game due to a back injury, turned anchor for BCCI’s channel and interviewed the star performers – Thakur and Sundar. T Natarajan, who did not have much to do with the ball on day three, was a part of the interview too thanks to his short but dramatic stay at the crease with the bat.

Playing his first-ever Test, T Natarajan looked uncomfortable against the Australian pacers especially Mitchell Starc as he somehow managed to keep himself self from the short ball barrage at him. He was hit on his arm several times but luckily did not suffer any injury. And Ravichandran Ashwin made sure to ask T Natarajan about his experience of facing Mitchell Starc.

The off-spinner asked his teammate about finally getting off the mark after scoring zero runs in his last 10 innings in First-class cricket. He also asked him about facing Starc, saying: “A lighter moment, Natarajan celebratory moment, I was really worried that Shardul and Washi’s highlight today would be stolen by Natarajan again. He got off the mark in last 10 innings for the first time. So Nattu, Off the mark in Test cricket.  In fact I had taken a bet that he will get off the mark with four runs.

“How did you feel? good feeling? good feeling that blocking away an over of mitchell starc comfortably?” Ashwin asked  T Natarajan in Tamil.

In reply, T Natarajan hilariously told Ashwin: “Comfortable? I didn’t even see the first ball.”

Here is a clip of the whole interview:
