Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli once again got a start; however, he was not able to convert it to a big one. Virat Kohli, who made 33 in the first match against Mumbai Indians, perished for the same score in the ongoing game against the SunRisers Hyderabad in Chennai. SunRisers Hyderabad’s Vijay Shankar took a fine tumbling catch at long leg.

Jason Holder, who replaced Mohammad Nabi for SunRisers’ second game in IPL 2021, struck in his first ball of his third over. The former West Indian Test captain bowled a back of a length delivery. Kohli tried playing the pull; however, he got a top edge and Vijay Shankar came sprinting from long leg and caught the ball brilliantly. The right-handed batsman’s innings lasted for 28 balls, hammering four boundaries.

Earlier, David Warner won the toss and put the Royal Challengers into bat and soon got rid of Devdutt Padikkal, who replaced Rajat Patidar. Before losing Kohli, the three-time finalists also lost Shahbaz Ahmed. As for the SunRisers, they made two changes by bringing in Jason Holder for Mohammad Nabi and Shahbaz Nadeem for Sandeep Sharma. The Orange Army lost their opening game to the Kolkata Knight Riders by ten runs in Chennai.
