Both the players were announced as captain and vice-captain before the start of the season itself.

Once a permanent regular of the Indian cricket team, they found it difficult to get buyers in the IPL auction. Harbhajan drew just one bid from Chennai Super Kings who bought him at his base price of Rs 2 Crore. Yuvraj too drew just one bid and was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 2 Crore, his base price.

He was once one of the hottest properties in IPL but his price slashed down.

Punjab side includes national players like Siddharth Kaul, Manpreet Gony, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Sandeep Sharma and Mandeep Singh.

Kaul bagged a handsome deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 3.8 Crore. Gurkeerat went for Rs 75 Lakh to Delhi Daredevils. Mandeep was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.40 Crore.

Sandeep was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a huge amount of Rs 3 Crore. Surprisingly, Gony’s name was not called during the auction. He bowled beautifully during Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and seemed to be in rhythm but his name was not called out.
